Reflection: When Sandler talked about the “Argument from the Sexual Politics of Meat” and the disruptive power struggle between a man and a woman; where a man is empowered over a woman. The relationship that a male should be eating meat because he is a man and that’s what men eat; and a woman should be eating fruits, vegetables, and salads. It reminded me of when I was little how my parents wanted me to play “boy” sports and they wanted me to learn how to shoot guns; they were teaching me how to “play in a man’s world” and to be a strong woman. They were teaching me how not to be dominated by men, teaching me to be equal in every way. So, the “argument from the sexual politics of meat” shouldn’t be relevant. …show more content…
It made me think – why not? Why not do this and help to save the lives of millions of people? Why not give up a little meat in your diet – maybe only eating it once a day, or better yet only once a week? This would lower the amount of animals needed to produce the massive amount of meat humans consume in their everyday lives. For every ten calories fed to an animal it equals one calorie consumed by a human; we could turn that around to help the millions of malnourished people in our
