The women's rights movement saw women fighting for women's suffrage. They fought for women to become equal with men and not be deemed a property for men. The women's right movement used many tactics in their fight for women's right which included parades showing off the iron maiden, pamphlets, and most controversial of them all picketing the white house. This was an effective strategy by the National Woman's Party (NWP) as this bought shock around the country, this was the first time in where picketing in front of the white house was used and it was very effective as it was one of the main reasons to why the 19th amendment was passed after controversy of the the women picketing from january till november and the unlawful arrest of women. This relates to the modern day picketing of the white house during the time of Trump’ inauguration for the Women’s march on Washington. They planned a picket during the inauguration just like the picket during Wilson's coming to the whitehouse. This was a modern day use of this strategy seen today.
