it was hard for the immigrants because of many things such as getting jobs and being able to pay taxes and rent. One of the reasons that it was hard for many immigrants was because they could not get all of the money they needed even though some of the immigrants worked twelve hours a day. According to document six it shows many men and women are holding up signs that say “we want 8 hours work,” and “ We demand 8 hour work days,” and this shows me that these men and women are fighting for shorter work days.
