The role of the wife has changed very much. An example of this is that wives can work together alongside their husbands. Another example is that they can do more than just make food and support their husbands. A great example of this is that wife's and husbands can work in the same job or type of job. An example of how women are like today, they aren't that afraid to stand up to the men. Also, some women work in jobs that were stereotyped as men jobs. Also today women are better than men in some situations. In the time of the play, women didn’t have much of a role they just made food and did what the husbands asked for. Ever rarely they spoke against their husbands. A reason to that is because even if you kill yourself you can’t reverse or undo the failures or mistakes you make. They have to deal with what they did for as long as they live or in death.
