In the film, “What’s eating Gilbert Grape”, Bonnie Grape, who is one of the main characters in the story, is an obese woman. She used to be married but not anymore, her husband committed suicide a long time ago. Bonnie and her four children live a not so comfortable life in Endora. She has a sad life as a mother and because of her obesity, has no friends and hasn’t left the house in seven years.
