What's The Matter With Kids Today

“What’s the Matter with Kid’s Today?” Journal Assignment I have often times been ridiculed by my parents, grandparents and even strangers by my use of the internet. My parents will often times say I spend way to much time on the internet, my grandparents say that the internet has consumed my life, and some strangers will mumble that I’m not paying attention to surroundings when sitting in Starbucks or Panera on my laptop, phone or iPad. They aren’t wrong either. I do use the internet a lot, and I’m not ashamed to say that whatsoever. However, that is how the world works in all honesty. I spend time writing for enjoyment, and I have stated this in numerous other papers I have written. So, it isn’t rare to find me relaxing on my bed or sitting on my living room floor with my family, typing away on my laptop. I’ll glance up for a second to see what’s on TV and I’ll notice my mother or father is looking at me with concern, as if I’m an addict and I need help. They’ll tell me to put the laptop away so we can spend “family time together”. Today, however, everything is online. I have school online, like this class. You have access to any and everything. I can maneuver easily through each class and it’s homework. I feel organized because I have my notes app on all my devices so I know what I need to do whenever I get the chance. Students can say, without a doubt, they constantly have homework.
