When America Became An Imperial Power

America is a country that is well known for its power. Some may believe that America “polices” the world. Which in my opinion I do not think that’s necessarily wrong. Whenever there is an issue around the world America is always trying to help for the most part. The US shows dominance over other countries and it’s been that way for a majority of the time. America gained this power in the 1890s after successfully finishing the reconstruction era and going through industrialization. Because of these two significant events America is granted with a strong society that accepts all nationalities in its work force which helps build up a healthy economy. Having such major success economically America was able to expand their trades globally which helped increase their market. With the amount of money America was getting they made sure to focus on renovating their military and making their nation stronger. This provided America with opportunities to gain overseas territories that would help protect the US. America became an imperial power in the 1890s because of past eras such as the reconstruction era and industrialization. These helped pass laws and improve that economy that would later give America the power that it has today.
Black or white the issues were still there. During this time America was faced with a civil war that later put the south in poverty. Even after this war not much was solved. African Americans were still treated as slaves. This caused for a change in laws. The 13th-15th Amendments passed and that helped give everyone the opportunity to be treated equal. This helped out America become an Imperial country because now African Americans and other nationalities were treated like a citizen and could work and help build the economy.
