Summary of Isaiah:
The author Isaiah lived between 740-681 BCE. Isaiah’s prophecies were mainly directed to the nation of Judah and the people of Jerusalem. The setting was also in Judah. The main characters in the book are Isaiah himself and his two sons, Shear-Jashub and Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz. Isaiah contains knowledge about the future and the forthcoming of Jesus. Isaiah tells people things that are going to happen in the future and in the new testament they are fulfilled.

Isaiah 6:1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.” John 12:41 “Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus’ glory and spoke about him.
In Isaiah 40:3 Isaiah says that in the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord and in John 1:23 John speaks of Isaiah’s words saying that in the wilderness, make way for the Lord. Isaiah 40:3 “A voice of one calling: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.” John 1:23 “John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, ‘I am the voice of one calling in the wilderness, Make straight the way for the Lord.”
In Isaiah 7:14 Isaiah said that a virgin will give birth to a son and in John 1:31 an angel tells Mary that she will give birth to a son. Isaiah 50:6 “I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.” Matthew 26:67 “Then they spit in his face and struck him their fists. Others slapped him.”
In Isaiah 52:13 it says that he will be raised and highly exalted and in Philippians 2:9,10 it says that God exalted him to the highest place. Isaiah 52:13 “See, my servant will act wisely; he will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted.” Philippians 2:9,10 “9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.”
Reflection:
From this investigation I have learnt a lot more about God and truth than I already knew. I didn’t know that what Isaiah said was fulfilled in the new testament and it was really good to learn about that. I have learnt more about God and the bible because this proves that the bible is real from what Isaiah said and then it being in Matthew, Luke, John, Romans, Peter, Philippines and some of the other books in the New Testament. What i have learnt in this investigation influences the way I live in that always believe trust what the bible says
