If she had been into dresses and dolls, her flying career most likely wouldn’t exist. She loved playing Elwell 2 baseball with other boys sometimes. She also loved to travel. Considering her father had jobs all over the country she constantly was on the move. She attended Hyde Park High School in her later teens. Her father worked for Rock Island Railroad’s Claim Department. In 1909 Amelia’s father developed a drinking problem which suddenly cost him his job. He employed for a new job as the clerk for the Great Northern Railway. This change caused Amelia and her family to move to St. Paul, Minnesota. Amelia Earhart definitely wouldn’t have made it as far as she did without the childhood she had.
Accomplishments
Success was a major key point in Amelia's life. As some already know, Amelia is very well known for being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She earned her pilot’s license in 1922. She worked hard everyday to afford pilot’s lessons and then one day she eventually received her license. In 1933, Amelia even managed to meet the First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. She was very inspired by Eleanor because Amelia believed women could still do the same as men. Amelia inspired lots of children back in the day because all of her outstanding, courageous actions. She would have also celebrated her 115th birthday on June 24, 2015.
To this day, her fate is the subject of unending speculation. Amelia believed she could do whatever she dreamed even though she was a woman. In 1937, Amelia suddenly went missing. She was making a flying trip across the Pacific Ocean but never came back. Ever since then people still search and discover ways on how she disappeared. She wrote her last letter to her husband about her around- the world trip. Amelia’s legacy still lies on and will never be forgotten.
Remaining a symbol of power and perseverance, Amelia Earhart proved that even though she was a woman, she could still do the impossible. To this day she is still an amazing role model. With a rough childhood and tons of astonishing accomplishments, she still remains with a legacy that will last
