In the film “What’s eating Gilbert Grape? “, Mrs. Bonnie, who is Gilbert’s mom, is an obese and lonely woman. Her husband who killed himself died therefore she lives with her children in a small town which called Endora. She feels very depressed and boring, she hasn’t left house for seven years. Her house is very old and small. Her life is very normal and not fun at all. She just eats, watches TV and sleep. She doesn’t want to do anything, she gives up her work, her favourites. Sometimes she looks alone because nobody talks to her, nobody besides her. Day by day she is around her house and do the same thing. She cannot move herself because she is giant. It’s very difficult for her to stand up and walk. She doesn’t take care of her children. She is useless in this house. However, she really loves her children, especially Arnie who has problems with his developmental issue.
she becomes confused everything. She is not only selfish, but also she bothers to the family. She is a little bit mean because when the father died, everything become chaotic, she doesn’t care anything and her children, they need to take care themselves. So she seems to have less problems than others like Gilbert. The main problems I think she has that when Arine is caught by police when he tries to climb the water tower, she wants to save him from there. It’s is difficult thing when’s she sees him in the police station. Finally, she decides to leave home and go to the police station. It’s surprising for the family to go there with her, because for a long time she hasn’t got out, and nobody can see her. So as to save Arnie, the children need do as she says. When she comes in, she is strong and walks heavily, and tells the polices give her
