Who Is Darcy In Something Sorrowed
The novel “Something Borrowed” is about a 30-year-old women that falls in love with her best friend's fiance. The main character Rachel has been best friends with Darcy since grade school. Since the day they became friends Darcy always had the benefit of the doubt. Darcy hardly worked for what she got, everything came to her without her barely working and life was good to her. On the other hand, Rachel worked hard, studied and still didn’t always get what she wanted. Rachel went to school to become a lawyer and scored her dream job, however it wasn't as exciting and fun as she pictured. Then there was Darcy who didn't go to college but was simply handed a job that had a yearly starting pay of 70,000 dollars. On Rachel's 30th birthday, she thinks
back to when she was younger and what she thought she would be doing on her 30th birthday. She figured she would have had kids by now, a husband, and her dream job. This is where Rachel’s original conflict starts but then her conflict blossoms into an even bigger issue when she comes to the realization that she is in love with Dex, who is Darcy’s Finance. Dex and Rachel have the same feelings and compassion for each other but the only thing keeping them from being apart is Darcy.
