Seeking the quality instead of the instead of quantity of happiness is not the right way to search for happiness. As human being living in this world we have the obligation of making it a better place to live meaning we not only should make the effort to be happy but we have many people who surround us that are in need of happiness. One positive act of a person can be the change another person life to positive outcomes. For example, in a situation where family have desires of traveling the world but have three children and budget is not considerable for the whole family to go traveling. They arrange to do it alone their own not considering the happiness it may bring the whole family to travel together It is a higher pleasure for themselves instead of the happiness of everyone who surrounds them, meaning because of higher pleasure people consider their happiness instead as a family in whole. It is a situation where some pleasures are more important than lower pleasure such a simple dinner with the family that is affordable. This situation is a very crucial critique to utilitarianism because life is very complex and not every situation will have a happy ending it all depends on the moral and the act of every single person individually. Utilitarianism does not always applies to all people and situations people like Bentham and Mills have great approaches to what happiness is about but not all situation and life styles are considered (Warke, 2000). It is true what Mills says about when someone gets a taste of higher pleasure they strive for it but in many cases they forget about reality leaving behind families, jobs, and life in whole because they get lost in search of pleasure but not what is right in front of them.
