Who Is John Updike's A Return Visit To Araby?

In the story Araby by James Joyce the narrator tells a story about a boy that admires a girl. The boy is depicted in the story of being a boy that has feelings towards a girl in his neighborhood. The story focus on the boy as the main character he wishes to go to the bazaar to buy a gift for this girl. He wants to impress the girl. The boy is transitioning to adulthood by being attracted to girls. The boy gets money from his uncle to look to purchase a gift and the journey begins to get to the bazaar to get a gift. The gift is to impress the girl. Observing me, the young lady came over and asked me did I wish to buy anything. When the boy is shopping at the bazaar the ladies were not friendly and discourage the boy from buying anything. The boy arrived late as the bazaar is closing and with the rude ladies the boy comes home with no gift for the girl.
