Why Are Vaccines Important
I am writing to tell you about the importance of getting vaccines. Many serious diseases such as influenza and shingles can be prevented by a vaccine. By getting a vaccine you are protecting you, your family, coworkers, and everyone. This is because if you get a vaccine for the disease you cannot get it, and most importantly cannot spread it. When you get a vaccine you protect everyone and help to get rid of the disease. So many diseases or even deaths, can be prevented thanks to vaccines. Chicken pox is a disease that can later lead to the disease called shingles. When you receive the vaccine for chicken pox, you help to stop the disease. There are many more diseases that are preventable with vaccines. Some are Influenza or the flu, Lyme disease, Measles, Mumps, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, Typhoid Fever, and many more. Vaccines make your body immune to many diseases that could easily be spread to you and others if you don’t get the vaccination. Something as simple as a handshake can carry the disease to so many people, and it doesn’t stop. It just keeps going. Sometimes a common disease can get worse and worse …show more content…
If you never got the vaccine for a disease like influenza (commonly referred to as the flu) because you don’t think you will need it. You think that you can take care of yourself with some medicine from the store and some sleep. When you do get the flu, that is what happens, but soon you get so sick that you go to the doctor. They send you to the hospital. They give you better medicines and you are soon feeling much better. You may be getting better, but all that time that you were sick, you weren’t working. That means you weren’t being paid. You were, however, paying all the doctors and nurses that helped you get better. Think of all the time and money you could have saved if you would have just gotten the vaccine. That is how vaccines can save you so much time and
