One of the first things I learned upon entering the proud United States Army was to be at the right place, at the right time, in the right uniform, with the right attitude. No Soldier can go wrong as long as they stick to those guidelines. That said, there are Soldiers that do happen to slip up and find that they are not at the right place at the right time. Those people are most commonly known as ‘’no shows”. What do I mean by “no shows”? “No shows” are the Soldiers that fail to show up at their "place of duty" at the time they were designated to be there.…

Why I was late for PT on Monday is that I did not wake up when my alarm on my phone went off. This may have been because I got very little sleep last weekend, and I also went through a bad break up, but that is still no excuse. I should have found a way to wake up and been to PT on time Monday. How I plan on fixing myself is that I plan on buying an actual alarm clock and using that. I plan to set it on the other side of the room, so that when it goes off, I actually have to get up to turn it off. There fore resulting in me having already gotten out of bed and not going to fall back asleep. Currently how I have it fixed though I that I have multiple alarms set up on my phone so that in case I do fall back asleep I will be woken up by another alarm. I also have to call Corporal Flores at 0500 to tell him that I am awake, at 0520 I have to call Corporal Jabalde to let him know that I am awake. then again at 0530 I have to call Corporal Flores telling him that I have a ride. I have to call Corporal Flores for a week straight(excluding weekends). Along with that if I do not call him one time, further actions will be taken to ensure that I am awake and ready for PT on time.…

A soldier is considered as the 'man of the moment'. It is because, the military organizations treat timeliness with extreme importance. It orients all courses of their activities and their success depends on the quality of that orientation. Therefore constant researches go on in every military organization to raise the understanding of timeliness among its members, many schemes are being formulated to improve the scope of doing more in little time, or doing something exactly on time, add to that the relentless practice of forming the habit of being on time. No wonder then, why the military personnel is regarded as the epitome of timeliness. The magnitude of the importance of timeliness in military may be felt by the civilians occasionally through the examples like when militaries act within a fraction of time to save the lives of the millions or when they save the civilization from any other disaster by a whisker. But then, those ideas are too little to delve in the realm of painstaking process through which the militaries attain a high state of alacrity and coordination of the body and mind. Those qualities are built through the extensive curriculum based on timeliness. That is why, Military organizations regard timeliness as the main key to their functioning, the prime governing element in their every level of existence. This total, wholehearted submission to timeliness is unique and beyond the perception of the civilians. This essay explores into that inside story which explains why timeliness is everything in military organizations.…

One truth, is that in military service, it is always important to be on time and at the right place, and never late. Different organizations have different definitions of ‘on time’. Prior to coming to Bravo three-thirteen, my last unit was happy with everyone being five minutes early to any formation. It took me a while to adjust to Bravo three-thirteen, because at Fort Sill they defined being exactly ten minutes early as late. Since the unit deployed to Camp Bucca, Iraq, the unit as a whole has been at times a lot more easy going, most of the time. I remember once, I was running behind due to not being able to find my car keys or identification card or something, and wound up arriving about one minute before the formation was called. My section chief at the time was angry at me and my platoon sergeant was embarrassed because he had been thinking I was going to miss formation and the First Sergeant knew not everybody was in ranks at the time. I have almost always strived to make my immediate superiors look good, whenever it has been possible and felt badly for letting them down that time.…
