One of the first things I learned upon entering the proud United States Army was to be at the right place, at the right time, in the right uniform, with the right attitude. No Soldier can go wrong as long as they stick to those guidelines. That said, there are Soldiers that do happen to slip up and find that they are not at the right place at the right time. Those people are most commonly known as ‘’no shows”. What do I mean by “no shows”? “No shows” are the Soldiers that fail to show up at their "place of duty" at the time they were designated to be there.…

The Importance Of Being On TimeIn the United States Military, tardiness is unacceptable. I could write this essay and fill it with excuses as to why I was late, but the fact of the matter is that there is no excuse. Being on time is very important. When I am late it makes everyone else run behind which then makes all the soldiers eat late and have to wait. And food is a very vital part of the army. The soldiers need their fuel in order better perform at their duty. Not to mention that when everything is running behind and then we all have to end up staying later than we would have had to in the first place. It makes the whole day very hectic and then people get irratated easy. It would make things run much smoother if everyone was on time all the time.…

Why I was late for PT on Monday is that I did not wake up when my alarm on my phone went off. This may have been because I got very little sleep last weekend, and I also went through a bad break up, but that is still no excuse. I should have found a way to wake up and been to PT on time Monday. How I plan on fixing myself is that I plan on buying an actual alarm clock and using that. I plan to set it on the other side of the room, so that when it goes off, I actually have to get up to turn it off. There fore resulting in me having already gotten out of bed and not going to fall back asleep. Currently how I have it fixed though I that I have multiple alarms set up on my phone so that in case I do fall back asleep I will be woken up by another alarm. I also have to call Corporal Flores at 0500 to tell him that I am awake, at 0520 I have to call Corporal Jabalde to let him know that I am awake. then again at 0530 I have to call Corporal Flores telling him that I have a ride. I have to call Corporal Flores for a week straight(excluding weekends). Along with that if I do not call him one time, further actions will be taken to ensure that I am awake and ready for PT on time.…

In today's army, being on time can be a paramount activity. Consequences for not showing up on time can be disasterous. In a normal job, you get up, go to work, and come home, and that is the limit of the level of involvement. The army is not one of those jobs. In the army, we are constantly training our mind and bodies for a combat environment. In such an environment, the level of involvement must be much higher. It is understood that any mistake, however seemingly small can have extreme consequences. Among those consequences are situations which can lead to soldiers loosing their lives.…

In this amazingly well thought of essay i will discuss with you today of the series of actions that brought me to write this paper, the possible effects these actions might have on the accomplishment of the mission, and how to discourage and possibly stop such things from ever happening to me. The reason I am being subject to this time consuming, uninspired, and rather boring writing assignment is because I failed to be at the correct place of duty at the time appointed to me by my superiors. The story begins on the previous night before the great war known to many as “The Great Flu Battle of Monty Gym” like any other night it will start with a handsome young private he might be a tad on the short side and his chin might not be as squared as he’d like but handsome none the less, and his bad luck with the evil things known as alarm clocks ! As this young private gets off work just like any other day he scurries towards his den his manly cave of freedom, sweat, food, alcohol, and lotion known as his barracks room opening the door as he knows in his mind that now at last he is free from the clutches of the men referred to by the people as THE NCO’s for he knows this is a safe haven where as long as he knows not to make a single peep as Ann Frank once did long ago nothing can harm him with such horrible, wretched, evil weapons known as extra duty or some also known as “detail” but not everyone gets so lucky not everyone can escape alive for those unlucky bastards I applaud for when you so happen to see them again if by luck this is so. it is the look on their defeated eyes like windows towards the soul knowing they could be so lucky as to dine pig at the great halls of a place to some referred as The Taste Korean or maybe drinking slushies’ at The amazing Sonic, but that is not so for them and that is why I salute you my friends my comrades my brothers in arms ! Knowing the worst had passed the young private opening the door already…

    Essay for Being Late.

Punctuality shows that you are responsible, trustworthy and can follow directions. Punctuality isn't just an order that the Army requires, but also a good personal trait that is a reflection of a person’s character, it shows that you have personal integrity and self-discipline. While some of us are occasionally late due to circumstances beyond our control, habitual tardiness shows a lack of respect for other people and their time. If someone is late continually that shows that they more then likely do not care about what their NCO tells them. Time is a precious gem that should not be wasted at any cost. If you don't use your time wisely, you can never get it back. It is a very special resource in that you cannot store it or save it for later. Promptness is not only a duty, but is also a part of good manners, it is favorable to fortune, reputation, influence, and usefulness. Lack of punctuality is a theft of someone else's time and a complete lack of respect for others. You should be punctual in everything you do. Punctuality goes hand in hand with military discipline. Recruits are taught to obey, immediately and without question, orders from their superiors, right from the day one of boot camp. Military discipline and effectiveness is built on the foundation of obedience to orders. This is why we are supposed work so well as a team. By following orders from the more…
