Why Bullying Is Wrong
“You’re stupid!” “You’re a waste of space.” “You have no talent!” Have you ever been told these things? Have you ever said these things? Chances are you answered yes to one of those questions, maybe even both. Bullying is so prominent in today’s society that you may do it without even knowing it. Why do kids even get bullied? “There are a variety of reasons why bullies target others, including everything from personality differences to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.” (Sherri Gordon) Bullying has it’s backlashes. Some may be: school violence, physical fights, depression, eating disorders, body dysmorphia and more. Some people think that bullying is the fault of the victim and that people should just be more ‘thick-skinned’. That is wrong. Bullying is wrong and needs to be stopped. …show more content…
“In the United States, 10 to 13 percent of school-age kids experience some form of rejection by their peers.” (Robin Nixon). Three of the more common types of bullying are cyber, physical, and verbal. The most noticeable type is physical (it leaves evidence on the body of a person). Then there is cyberbullying (proven by saving text’s, post’s, etc.), and finally verbal (usually only proven with testimonies of more than 1 child). There is too much bullying in the world and you can do something about it. You can stand up and help
