Playing CBAA for nine years has taught me so many values that I carry throughout my life now. With many years of league experience behind me, I learned from several great coaches how to think quickly and play not for myself, but for my team. I also saw that a good basketball team communicates well and learned that in doing so, everyone on the team can play well. With these skills I also learned I can work well with others in all types of settings, such as my job as a barista and my volunteer work as a National Honors Society member . I have also been taught how to be realistic but yet optimistic.. This is not only because my team made it to the championship, but also because I got to play with my sister. At first, I was not thrilled with the idea of my thirteen year old sister playing with me, however, after the first game I realized that it was an asset to have her as a teammate. We were both quick, nimble and in sync. For once, my sister was actually listening to my advice, on and off the court. I have CBAA to thank for the irreplaceable bond that I got to make with my sister, because this year I was not only her teammate, but her mentor, role model, and best
