Why Children Should Be Considered Adults At 18
How long do you really want children to be considered minors and never have to be responsible for their actions? Many people argue that the age 18 is too young for a kid to be considered an adult. For those people that believe that I would like to ask, at what age do you want children to learn how to be responsible adults that can make their own decisions and help our country grow? The age that children should be considered adults is 18. There are multiple reasons why children should be considered adults at 18, and I am going to share some of those reasons with you.
Kids have to grow up at some point, so why hold us back if we feel like we are ready? Once kids get out of high school, they should make their own choices on what to do with their

I will have to politely disagree with these people. I am not saying that all eighteen year olds are ready to be adults, but I am saying that most of them are. You shouldn’t hold back the people that are ready to move on with their lives because there are a few people that aren’t ready. Some people might argue and say that eighteen is too young to make big decisions like who the president of our country is because eighteen year old minds aren’t fully matured. I disagree with those people because as a young person, I can say that young people understand more than older people think we do. Older people make it sound like all eighteen year old are completely unintelligent just because they haven’t experienced a lot, but the older people are preventing us from experiencing anything. Another thing people might argue is that we are irresponsible to make our own decisions and that we are not ready for the real world. Those people that think that are incorrect because they never even let us try to make our own decisions and live as an adult. It is unfair to say that eighteen year old aren’t ready for the real world when they won’t give them a chance. Take it from somebody who is a young person who is being affected by this, if we don’t think we are ready to be an adult at eighteen, we would not try so hard to be considered

Adulthood is one of those words that college students shiver at their mere mention, along with “finals week”, “textbook prices”, “we’re out of coffee” and the “we need to talk” relationship killer. Adulthood and the denomination of being an adult have been topics of discussion for many individuals of many ranging years (from pimple-faced teenagers to sternly-faced late 30 year olds) and the question of when do you become a full-fledged grown-up adult has been up in the air for some time. Tracy Moore’s article “Listen Up, Dudes: It’s Time to Own Up to the Fact That You Are an Adult” provides a pretty good idea and consensus on what it is to be an adult, and shoving them promptly in the face of some denial-driven 30 year olds. Her ideas and concepts are well organized and logical, strengthened by the depth of her discussion, as well as her use of another publication’s data and analyzing it further on.…

Don’t let the innocent looks and actions of kids and teenagers fool you. Never under estimate the knowledge of kids and youths due to their first impression, the way they look, dress and act. I believe teenagers should be tried and sentenced as adults. If teenagers believe they could get away with cruel crimes, then I believe they are capable of being able to handle the consequences of an adult act and behavior.…

When turning a certain age, certain privileges are gained. Certain rewards are achieved such as voting rights, the ability to purchase a house, the ability to purchase tobacco products at the local gas station, but most importantly the ability to be held responsible for your actions. The age eighteen sounds magical. Well, that’s because an eighteen-year-old is considered an adult in nearly every state of the union, which is a pretty big deal for most teens. What most eighteen-year olds are not so happy about is the fact that they are no longer being tried for crimes in juvenile courts.…

“In evidence presented as an amicus curiae (friend of the court), the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders (Nicro), scientific research shows that people under the age of 18 are less capable of "mature and socially responsible decision-making than adults." In my opinion they are wrong because if children are able to make choices they should take ownership for them and be tried like everyone else who makes mistakes. The reason why some say that children shouldn’t be tried as adults is because many big organizations agree or think this as well.…

    Age of Responsibility

No two people exactly the same, so people develop at different rates. “The fact that every person is different and develops at his own pace doesn't make the creation of policy any easier.” (Greenblatt 22). It would be extremely difficult to make a solid age of responsibility since everyone is different. Any age decided upon would be unfair for some people and perfectly fine for other. There is also the fact that there is no upper limit to the age of responsibility. There are copious amounts of older people whose minds are fading; they can’t recognize it themselves and they don’t always have someone there to recognize it for them. These people are equally if not more dangerous than someone under the age of responsibility because they are not always capable of making sound judgments and there is a strong possibility of them being under the Influence of some form of medication and/or alcohol. It is a well-known fact that women generally mature faster than men physically, emotionally, and mentally. Does this mean that women should have a lower age of responsibility than men? No, because this fact is a general statement based on the analysis of a few individuals and couldn’t possibly represent everyone. Some women mature slowly and some don’t mature at all, while some men mature quickly, and some mature at a normal rate. Due to the individuality of people and the many factors that affect growth and maturity there is no way to make a solid, fair age of responsibility.…
