There are several reasons as to why I am pursuing a college degree in Psychology. It is a stepping stone to the path of becoming a licensed Psychiatrist, which has been one of my personal goals for a very long time. The second reason is that it increases employment opportunities showing employers that although I might not have much experience, I do have the knowledge to be hired. A college degree will also set me apart from my peers that did not have the drive and motivation to focus on studying a particular major for four years. Having my degree will also be my gateway to having a job with a salary making more money compared to what I would earn working minimum wage. Earning my degree will help me discover my way of learning and help me develop techniques to adapt to other learning styles. In the four years of pursuing my college degree I will get experience, learn new material, and have constant progress in my self-development.
My learning styles consist of being active and visual. According to the first inventory, Index of Learning Styles and Strategies, provided by Richard M. Felder and Barbara A.
