I would be a Mayan
Aztec is not for me
I didn't choose the Aztecs for a couple of reasons. One of them is the sheer number of people they have. The Aztecs stood at about 6,000,000 people, which is way to many. They are also very war oriented and formed most of their alliances this way. I, personally, am much more interested in the arts than in war.
If I could choose to live in the Aztec, Inca, or Mayan empire, I would easily choose the Mayan civilization. From a personal point of view, I would fit in the best with the Maya people. First off, their were less people with the Mayans than with the Inca or Aztec. There were more than twenty elaborate cities with as many as 5,000 to 50,000 people, but even these large numbers don't come close
to the other groups. Being a very withdrawn person, the less people the better. The Mayans were also more of a peaceful people, they were more into art instead of war. Archeologist think that they Maya people spent most of there time in ceremony or stargazing, which sounds like heaven. They were also very smart. The Mayans developed a number and math system that was more advanced that Roman numerals. It was also much easier to use.
Inca is not for me
The Inca people were not for me either, mainly for the same reasons as the Aztecs. The Incas have even more people than the Aztecs, a whopping 15,000,000 people at the time of the conquest. This civilization was also described as "a large and warlike nation". they expanded by conquering the neighboring groups and taking over their lands. They then demanded the conquered people pay a tax of labor. This tax could be paid with military service, construction work, or agriculture work. It was this system of labor that allowed the Incas to complete massive construction projects.
