Why Did Islam Spread So Quickly

Beginning on a single rock, the Islamic religion has spread far and wide across the world. Muhammad, the prophet of Islamic God Allah, claims to have ascended to heaven to speak to Allah about this new religion on this rock, henceforth, the Islam religion began to form. However, the spreading of this religion was extremely fast for that day in age. The people in that time did not have access to high tech technology like we do today to speak of their beliefs. Therefore, Muslims, people of the Islamic religion, had to spread Islam in other ways. The expanding trade routes, conquering of neighboring land, and the incorporation of the religion in the Muslims’ daily lives were three of many ways that Islam spread so quickly
The first way that the Islamic religion was spread quickly was the expanding trade routes. Islam was and still is centered in Mecca, and so were the trade routes. Mecca is easily fortified, but it also had many direct trade routes to and from neighboring large cities and towns. As people traveled along these routes, they saw and learned about the Muslim’s beliefs. This lead to more people agreeing with them,
As the government got stronger, they were able to expand Islam to new places. At its peak, the empire spanned from Spain to western Asia and Northern Africa. Being this large, they gained many new followers. However, without the help of a strong and determined army, they would have never been able to expand to this scale. Furthermore, being that Muhammad’s followers were so dedicated to Islam, this made the army even stronger and more capable of conquering lands. The Muslims also specifically and strategically took over tribes consisting of people from another religion. In addition, Muslims were liked by many people outside of the the muslim community.
