Both of the two groups pretty much lived hand and hand; that was the case up until Attila and his group of the Huns moved the tribes deeper into Rome. These German tribes were being poorly treated and soon vandals known as the Visigoths quickly went against the Romans. The Roman army was overthrown leading to the Visigoths obtaining the city of Rome and taking all control of it. Soon after the city was conquered the Huns faced defeat with a Visigoth/Ostrogoth army consisting of several Roman men. These problems would have been easily avoided with correct decision making.The harsh treatment of the new settlers caused the invasions to occur this misconduct was caused by the Roman’s mentality and psyche to power over everything. Politics and ineffectiveness of the Roman government caused the roads and public buildings to collapse. The practice of Christianity was forbidden when it first arrived to keep all of the Roman citizens under control of their rulers.
