Why Did The United States Join World War I?
Before WWII happened many nations were going through hard times and did not want to engage in another war. WWI had just ended about 20 years ago and still were recovering their economy. To avoid wars nations came up with policies and treaties with other nations in order to keep the piece. The US, UK and france all wanted to prevent the war. UK,US and france came up with things like the neutrality laws, policy of appeasement, and the five power treaty
The United States were a huge arsenal for WWI which was one of the reason the US joined WWI. The neutrality laws were rules and regulation that were put in place in order to keep america out of the war. The laws consist of not trading or traveling to an bigriant nations. There was also a limit on trading with nations that were bigriant. The neutrality law were supposed to make america neutral and keep us away from any sort of foreign affairs overseas. France and UK were affected because of the neutrality laws they could not buy weapons from America and America was there main arsenal for war …show more content…
France and UK came up with the policy of appeasement which was a policy with nazi germany that would allow hitler to take a lot more land than he was supposed to. The reason being is the policy was put into place so that the UK and france would let Hitler do what he wanted as long as he didnt do what they told him not to do. The policy of appeasement however did not work because Hitler was not someone you could appease. Once Hitler invaded poland the policy ended thus ending the reign of letting hitler walk all over
