Why Did The Vietnam War Went Wrong
It was the year of 1955, when everything started. Not a single person, on this earth, knew just how bad and long this war would drag on. Many questions are still unanswered today. Why did America participate in this war? Why were our soldiers treated with such disrespect and unwanted love? The many lives that were lost, including our troops, cannot be brought back. This history cannot be change. But if we could go back in time. Would United States choose the same decision? Many things have gone wrong in this war. And this so call "war", is the fight of Vietnam war. One of the many things that went wrong, was the massacre of My Lai and My Khe. The massacre set an outrage across the world. No soldier had said the truth, all had kept quiet for eighteen months. Till one day a soldier had broke their silence. Ron Ridenhour, a soldier from 11th Brigrade, gave his story to a news reporter (www.warhistoryonline.com). When the news broke out there was an outrage across the world. All different emotions were being feel. Back in America Media was breaking out like crazy. Many news coverages from My Lai and My khe were appearing. Americans hearts were sadden, they were also in disbelief, and many of them left angry. Now this gave the soldiers a tougher time returning home, to a nice warm welcome. Now they are not so welcome back home (www.warhistoryonline.com). Across nations, not only America starting pointing out that now would be a good time to end this war. They believe that America should be pull out the war, after the horrific massacres had occur. No one could understand why they even kill children, for goodness sake what could they have done. Footage show imagines of the villagers being killed, and also of the deceased. This was a turning point in war for America. Were suppose to be helping, not killing the innocent. At least fourteen soldiers were tried for court, only one was convicted for life in

    In 1968 during the Vietnam War, the Charlie Company led an attack on the small village of My Lai 4. The settlement was inhabited by Vietnamese civilians and harbored no military-aged men. One of the platoon leaders, Lt. William Calley, directed the murders of many defenseless civilian women, children, and the elderly. About five hundred civilians were found in mass graves after the massacre. The buildings of the settlement were also destroyed.
