Kids are developing these symptoms because they are immersed in tech and they spend most of their time on it. (SIP-B) Technology is a crutch and we should learn to walk away sometimes. The new generation of kids are being affected by technology enormously throughout the growth of technology. Ruth states in her article that a study done by the Kaiser Family Foundation found that children from the age of eight to eighteen are spending more than seven and a half hours a day on technology (Ruth 1). Which affects the children because it cause them to do less physical activity. She also states “The danger with our technology-obsessed kids, Greenfield warns, is that they are no longer accustomed to the full range of mess and meaningful human interaction” (Ruth 2). Kids no longer know how to interact with one another, because they are stuck on technology. Ruth mention in her article how social technology is molding children's brain…
Twice as many children have cell phones now than they did in 2004. In a similar way, technology has managed to wiggle itself into every part of our daily lives. Whether it’s using Siri on an iPhone or getting an X-ray, technological advancements has changed the way people function, especially adolescents. Technology has hindered the development of children in subtle ways but is proving to have immense impacts on youth.…
Do you think kids should have homework? I don’t know because sometimes it takes hours to do. Right now I usually have homework in math science and English everyday. I don’t think we should have homework because it’s too much work to start and it gets in the way of after school activities and most importantly can cause some health problems.…
These two paired together are a deadly combination and it is very hard to steer a child off of this course. There were cases of obese children in earlier years, but in todays society there are so many inventions that encourage less physical activity. The explosion of the popularity of television and video games is a huge factor in childhood obesity. Why go outside and play sports when a child can virtually play any sport they want for hours from the comfort of the couch? As it is said in The White House report on childhood obesity, sent directly to President Obama, “Screen time has been associated with children getting less and poorer quality sleep, and insufficient sleep has been linked to a heightened risk of obesity” (Solving Obesity 7). Not even mentioning the obvious fact that screen time also takes away from physical activity. Everything surrounding children’s screen time is a major factor that leading to childhood…
Although technology can be beneficial if used moderately, over-dependence and excess usage has a negative impact on young children. Today, we’ll first discuss how devices affect the bond between parents and children. Then, we’ll take a look at how health issues can arise from the overuse of electronic devices. Finally, we’ll examine how unreasonable amounts of screen-time affects how well they perform in school.…
They can jump ,run ,walk and explore what around them when they are outside . That electronic device will not help them with their physical development because they would be sitting playing with electronic device instead of being active. Daycare center should encourage children with their physical development and help them be active . That children would not get any physical development with the benefit of electronic devices . That daycare center should discourage children to play with electronic device because they are already surrounded with the electronic devices at their home. That daycare center need to get the children active instead of playing with the electronic device because some children when they go home all they want to do is play with the electron device instead of playing outside .That educators should teach them in young age that electronic device are not good for them. That daycare center should discourage the electronic device in the center because it would have negative effect on children health and physical…

Technology is a cause of children becoming obese. Children spend most of their time watching television or playing video games. Due to the new and improved technology such as Xbox one and Windows 7, kids spend little if any time exercising or eating the right foods because they are so occupied with the video games. I am aware that kids are young and need to enjoy their…

This can include computer and video game time. On average, a typical child spends four hours a day watching television. This is not including video game or computer time. As technology becomes more common, the level of physical inactivity will keep increasing. A child 's weight, in my opinion is soley based on their parents or guardians decisions. This including the amount of time being spent playing video games, watching television, and being on the computer. Two major factor for parents or guardians to prevent their child from becoming obese is to control portion sizes, and to maintain at least two hours of physical activity. This can easily be done by signing up for a school sport or even taking a walk around the neighborhood. From previous observation, child obesity is caused by a parent or guardians ignorance, or failure to be there for their child. I have seen in some cases where a permissive parent will give their child what ever they please in order to keep them happy and busy while the parent gets things done like house work, cooking, cleaning, etc. This not only gives the child an idea that they 're in charge and what ever they say goes, but it shows neglect and carelessness of the parent or guardian. This may contribute to a major problem as the child gets older. Modeling is one of the major ways for a child to learn. If young children see their parents or guardians eating…
Today, the main cause of obesity is certainly children eating too much and/or not performing regular exercise or just generally never being active at all. Because children are not getting the exercise they need, all those calories aren’t being burnt up, so they then turn into fat. The fat then keeps adding up, resulting in excessive weight gain and eventually obesity. Television and video games are just two of the many activities to help kids avoid regular exercise. In the past times, children had no problem going outside to exercise on a daily basis. Whether it be a game of baseball or just going for a walk, they still achieved their daily intake of needed exercise. But nowadays, with having television, computers, video games, and such, children are spending all their time indoors and exercising only the mind and hands. When one adds the lack of exercise to poor choices in food, one’s chances of becoming obese obviously increase.…
Childhood obesity starts with how they grew up, scientists show that unhealthy living can cause childhood obesity. Playing less outside and more on electronics is a factor of childhood obesity. As a child electronics seem more entertaining than playing outside, but the result of this can cause an increase of electronic hours in which kids get less exercise. This can also start an unhealthy diet containing fat and…
