The State of Ohio has a mandatory program which future foster parents must attend. Male: 7,618 and Female: 7,736 in those systems. There are more older kids in the system rather than the younger ones and babies included. That is a lot! In 2010, there were a total of 7,157 foster care homes in Michigan.
Tennessee has a training program called PATH. Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness. Well what does that have to do with foster care you ask? Path helps to have homes so kids do not become homeless and have a good place to stay temporarily. It helps the families in need with rent, utilities and other needs that will assist the child. State of Texas has a PRIDE program as well. It covers topics like child attachment issues, loss and grief, discipline, abuse, behavior intervention, etc. ( DFPS) In 2015, Texas had 17,151 children removed from their homes. Where do they go? They go to a foster home or car system. 23% of those kids are babies aging between 0 and 2 years old. 15% are ages 3-5. 18% are children ages from 6-9. The list goes on and on. (Pathways
