As Hamlet’s whole world could “melt away into vapor” his perspective on life has taken a toll. Hamlet’s vow to avenge the death of this father, does not pose a threat to his thoughts of suicide . The thought of death is more appealing as Hamlet compares his life to a “garden” as “only nasty weeds grow in it now.” Through the use of metaphors, Shakespeare describes Hamlet’s life as a tainted garden that only has misfortunes to look forward to.
