Why Do We Need To Be A Pediatric Pharmacist

Science is experienced in many of our everyday lives, whether it is at school, work, or even in our own homes. Many times we don’t even notice when we apply it, but we work with science everyday in small ways, or even in big ways. At this age we don't find much importance on what science has to bring to us but as we grow older we will realize that it will play a much bigger role in our lives than what we can imagine right now. There are always times when we get asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” At a younger age we would say a popstar or ballerina, as we leaned in towards our teen years we aspired for something higher like a doctor or a lawyer , and once we got to highschool where things started to get real we really didn’t know
They take upon the responsibility of ensuring that every child up to 18 years old receives the medication required and that it is a safe and effective drug for them to be able to intake. They have the right prescribe the right medication for the children and have to elaborate on the type of medication that the child will be consuming with the parents. They have to be able to consult with doctors in order for the children to receive the correct useful medication. They also have to ensure that the medication the child will be receiving will not result in any side effects, therefore they have to go through their medical history in order for no mistake to occur. I decided to pursue this career because I like consulting with other on benefits that may be acquired especially if it relates to one's’ health and like already stated, children. Being able to accomplish this would require a lot of hard work, dedication, and passion being put forward. Key points within this career path are communication skills good and effective,as well as analytical skills and reading comprehension. A pediatric pharmacist requires the knowledge of chemistry and other aspects of science as well. That goes for any type of pharmacist since they deal with drugs and medications. They are involved with certain health care and have to understand the precautions they have to take when prescribing certain drugs for the children. They have to be able to identify the side effects that a certain medication brings upon. For that science makes a big involvement within the pharmacy career path. Having to ensure what each medication has in it is a difficult task, and there are limited amount of errors you can make, even better none considering that a child’s life and your career are on the line.
