Jamie came up behind him and asked him a question, “Do you think Julia is pretty”.
Pompey pondered the question with interest and replied, “Why do you think Julia is pretty”. Now Jamie did not know how to reply to his question even though he started the conversation. “Um never mind I’m going to go eat downstairs”, said Jamie.
After Jamie left Pompey started wondering about Jamie’s question “Julia is pretty but why would Jamie ask that”, he thought to himself. Pompey did not think about the question any further and continued staring at the blue wide sky.
The next day a loud noise woke Pompey up. “Who’s making all of that noise!”, said Pompey.

“We were tipping things over to wake you up it is almost noon!”, replied Julia. Pompey was starting to walk back up the stairs to go back to sleep when he realized why Jamie and Julia woke him up, “ Oh my god the games are about to start we have to go, why didn’t you guys wake me up sooner!”, said, Pompey. He rushed past them to the bathroom to get changed while Julia and Jamie rolled their eyes at his ignorance.
“Oh the games,” Pompey though. “I wonder if Jamie and I will finally get to participate in the games this time, after all, we are gladiators” he continued thinking. Jamie and Pompey were the youngest gladiators of their century, both each age 20. They never usually played in the games because of their age, but each time they did play they always won.
All three of the best friends walked out of the villa and went on to the games. Julia Caesaris who was the emperor’s daughter was a very nice brunette girl with beautiful glowing skin. She always hung out with Pompey and Jamie even though the other girls thought it was weird that her best friends were boys and not girls. Jamie and Pompey went with the other gladiators and Julia went to go sit with her Father’s advisors. Jamie and Pompey sat with the other gladiators hoping they could play against a worthy component. But as always they were told, “Not today maybe next time”. So they sat and watched the gladiators fight. As the tall gladiator stabbed his bronze sword into the short gladiator's leg, Pompey turned around to look at Julia. Pompey was starting to notice things he never noticed before, how she flips her long dark brown hair when she laughs, how her dimples poke out when she smiles, and the way her brow crinkles when she’s sad.
