Do zoos really matter writes Dr. Grey Stafford! His opinion is that… “Zoos create opportunities for individuals to connect with animals in very personal ways that change hearts and minds. Yes, we need good zoos, now more than ever!”
Dr. Grey Stafford ( PhD) is the author of the book Zoomility and The Keeper Talent of Training which are animal training books! For the past 25 years, he has studied and cared for hundreds of terrestrial and aquatic species. Dr. Grey is also the director of Conservation of the Wildlife World Zoo and he trains species of animals weekly on television segments in Arizona.

Even though zoos help countless wild animals, it has become fashion by some, to ignore their contribution to save wild life. A depressing fact is that 1 000 animals in South Africa, 100 000 elephants in Africa, and 100 million sharks are killed each day!
It’s not just the animals living in modern zoos that benefit from the scientific knowledge and experience the zoo gives. The wildlife benefits too thanks to zoos which rescue stranded animals each year! An endangered African monkey given daily life-saving insulin injections was taught do so by an orca whale trainer 25 years ago. These examples illustrate the advancement in animal science, health, etc. The events in the story occur to put emphasis on why zoos are beneficial and how they have made a difference! To explain how people are protecting and preserving the last of all wildlife left and to highlight that zoos are not brutal killers. This article highlights that without all the zoos in the world, we would be hopeless. The events in the story occur to remind people of the hope that the zoos have to preserve the last of all
