1. Why does religion play such a big role in this book ? This question is directed at the author. I thought it was odd how Margaret White (Carrie’s mother) was so obsessed with religion, since her parents (Carrie’s grandparents) weren’t.
I think the reason Stephen King decided to let religion play such a big part in the book is because if it hadn’t been for Carrie’s mother obsession with religion, certain events in the book would’ve turned out really different. In my opinion family is supposed to love you unconditionally and your home should be a safe place. It was hard for me to read how Carrie’s mother locked her up in a ‘prayer’ closet and almost killed her on several
