Having low vocabulary skills made it so difficult for me to understand reading and writing. Whenever I had to read and write I would never understand what the book said or understand how to start write. Due to my low vocabulary skills I was put in the Special Education Program. Being in the Special Education Program affected me so much because I had some of my peers make fun of me. This made me think I wasn’t as smart as them. Having my peers made fun of me where I tend to have a slow self-esteem. Whichever I had to read out loud during class I would always panic because of what my classmates would think and also because of the high vocabulary the book has. Being in the Special Education Program I was able to improve with my vocabulary, reading and writing skills. Being Hispanic is one of the biggest blessings I could have ever asked for, but unfortunately when I was young it made me struggle with learning English. It made it difficult for me to understand English which lead me to having difficulty with my writing skills. When teachers asked us to write, I would always stress out about them. Due to my English not being where it should have been. I still struggle a little bit now, but not as much as before. Now that I overcame that obstacle I feel luckier than ever for being able to read, speak and write both languages when most people
