The Importance Of Music In My Writing
Throughout my life writing has been very difficult. As a kid a speech impediment impaired my ability to learn to read properly. Because I struggled at reading, I also struggled at writing. In elementary school I went to a special class during lunch to learn how to read and write better. In middle school I went to after school help, but my writing skills always seemed to slip behind the level of the students around me. Both writing and playing a musical instrument involves the movement of your fingers and involve reading some form of a language. Notes are words in the music language. The sound you can create through music sometimes can depict a emotion better than words can themselves. With the movement of my fingers I can write a paper or play a …show more content…
In order to learn to write, you must learn how to read. The same goes for music. In order to play music, you must learn how to read sheet music to play the piece. Reading books are a tool I use to improve my English skills. Reading is very hard for me. I have never been fawn of it. But when I do read I feel like my understanding on how the English language works strengthens. The same goes for music. When I listen to music I feel like my understanding own notes and music structure broadens. Without reading and listening to music I feel like my knowledge of both topics would be limited. Expression is both something I have enjoyed from both music and writing. Even though my writing skills are not so great, I still use it as a way to express myself. Taking a journal of my day helps me express the emotions I feel throughout the day. Just like writing, playing music is also a way I express myself. Different pieces depict different tones, and playing the pieces that express the mood I am in makes a feeling even stronger. Expression is something I desire in life, and any form of art I can use to create that is an outlet for

Music has been described as a “universal language,” because it’s a good way of communicating. You don’t necessarily have to use words to express your emotions, you can however use rhythm, tempo, pitch and etc. I agree with this assessment because I see music as a way to express your emotions and communicate with others, when you don’t know how to tell someone something, for example, when you fall in love with someone and you can’t explain them how much you love them, write them a song. It’s simple, cute, it’ll get your point across, and it’s something they’ll cherish for as long as they live.…

Writing was extremely difficult for me when I was younger, mainly because the great ideas I had in my head would not sound so great when I wrote them down on paper. It would sound so perfect to me, yet didn’t make any sense to someone else. Also, I dislike writing for the simple fact that there are a lot of rules to it. Throughout my high school years, I was a poor writer, and it came to my attention in my English 1101 class last year. I failed it the first time, because of not knowing how to get my thoughts to come together without them being all over the place. Retaking that course has really helped me get more focused on my writing skills.…

Children in the US should have music classes, which is a key factor to a quality education. According to Washington Post, “Children’s ability to appreciate the rhythmic aspect of speech is correlated with the ease with which they learn to read, even when controlling for phonemic awareness.” Music can help with many other subjects, such as reading, and it can even help with rhythm in speech. Similarly, PBS says “What children would miss most in a musically reduced or barren environment are the musical…

There are many ways you can learn to write. I believe these three ways have some of the biggest influences on a persons ability to write. The first would be creativity. Creativity from the writer gives the reader a good picture of what is being portrayed. The next would be grammar. Grammar has a large influence on a writers ability as it helps make sense of the story being told. The writers ability to read also helps influence their writing, by reading other writers pieces and getting idea to create their own style of writing and transforming it into their own. One thing that hinders a writers ability would be a disability, such as dyslexia. Dyslexia makes it hard for one to illuminate words, letters and symbols. There are many things that…

I myself know I am not a very strong writer, but a strengths I do have is once I have begun to write the creative juices get to flowing. The biggest weakness I have when writing is my grammar and punctuation I just can’t seem to get my paper perfect. I hate but love to write. The only reason I say I hate to write is because I can hardly ever figure out how to start off my paper. The biggest reason I love to write is because I love to share my stories and creativity. My best writing experience is when I write something personal and important to me. Anything that has to do with my daughter or my family I can defiantly elaborate on. Lacey, I also struggle with writing. I have gotten better with time but I am still learning. One of my biggest problem is formulating the research material I want to use to write papers. There is so much information at our disposal it is hard to narrow down what is considered good information. Then there is the paraphrasing so that you are not stealing someone else ideas. I struggle with interrupting the thoughts of others and putting it into my own words. I have to be careful when writing to not get lazy and just copy. Like you I find it important to proof read my work. Sometime I get a little lazy and skim over my work no giving it a good proofing. I have learned it is important to take my time and proof read over and over again. I find…
