Much like many people I procrastinated and put off my summer reading to very last possible minute when I should be grateful that I even have a book to read. I thought about how differently Liesel would have handled a reading assignment. Its hard to appreciate your education and our resources sometimes we forget that we have it so easy. The relationship between Rosa and Liesel was rather intriguing. Rosa loved Liesel just as Liesel loved her but it seemed Rosa did not respect Liesel from the way she talked to her. I could not begin to understand how Liesel could take the abuse from her and not react. I understand that Liesel is grateful to her and deep down Rosa cares but the women has a mean outer presence. I suppose if I were fostered in her home I would learn to love her since she does care deep down. Max and Rudy were two characters I could feel connected to. Rudy was quite persistent asking Liesel for a kiss. I found it really crushingly beautiful how Liesel gave him a goodbye kiss after Death came for him. This book was to a large degree gloomy. The parts that to me had a positive feel were when Liesel and Hans would read together. The two of them had a heartwarming relationship. Rosa and Hans were so vastly different, both cared deeply they just had different ideas on how show
