1.If you love the outdoors and want to protect the animals in the wilderness then being a game warden is right for you . I wanted to become a game warden since the age of 9 because I love the outdoors . I thought it would be cool being able to work outdoors all day doing what I love.
The first step to becoming a game warden is your edumacation. 9. Game wardens have to know basic math such as algebra and geometry. They must be able to communicate and handle certain situation or people. They must be able to know animal tracks, plants, and fish types. Game wardens must be at least near sighted. 2. Game wardens have to enforce game and fishing laws, stop poachers, search and rescue lost hikers, teach kids or groups about wildlife and the dangers of the wilderness. They have to arrest, give citations to people, collect information about fish population and wildlife populations. Game wardens investigate crop damage , polluted water, and damaged property . They also get a earload from poachers saying how it's god's given right for them to hunt when and wherever they want. Its their responsibility to protect the endangered species from poachers. Such as Black Foot Ferret which only 80 live in the world and 1000 live in captivity. They have to watch out for poisonous plants in the outdoors and dangerous animals when they are patrolling the wilderness.
13. The average salary is $58,880 nationwide and $41,970 statewide. The number of jobs nationwide is 6,100 and statewide is 120. Game wardens aren’t in it for the money they are in it for their love of the outdoors. Texas pays the most for game wardens while Utah pays the least. 14. The national outlook is 2.61% increase and the statewide is a 1.6% increase. Expected job openings for the next 10 years is 2,000.
