Under Armor Clothing Company has surpassed Adidas in college basketball according to CBS Sports. When asked who the number two brand is for basketball one coach was quoted in saying “Under Armour. Not even close. Run a big-time event in a big-time facility in Atlanta during July. AAU programs and high school programs all over the country wearing Under Armour. They are locking up major football and basketball programs and in many cases entire athletic programs. …show more content…
The Steph Curry factor helps as well. I think Adidas is a distant third now.” Even with these types of comments people are always trying to rank the top three and everyone has a different idea of who is number two and number three. I have played basketball all my life so having a passion for a sport that the Under Armor Clothing Company is really trying to make a push in sales is something that I think would allow me to accell at the job.
Under Armor Clothing Company is the youngest of the big three brand companies. Their growth over the last couple years have been far greater than the other two companies but yet they are still the smallest of the three. This is primary due to the age of the company and I believe they have an excitement and drive that sets them apart from the other two. Nike and Adidas are older and already developed their brand. So you won’t see any major spikes in their overall growth. The Under Armor Clothing Company’s P/E ratio is 40 and it has a market capitalization of 15.5 Billion. Its twelve month revenue is 6.8 billion. Something that you can take it for what it is, is that they do not hand out dividends. This means that they are holding on to their money to reinvest into their company. As a stockholder you like to see that because they are trying to build their company and therefore gain you money. Personally though I like to see dividends just because it's guaranteed money in your pocket over the years. In the future they predict to have an increase of 25% every year until 2018.
The founder and current CEO is Kevin Plank who created the company in Washington D.C. in 1996. Kevin Plank was in college when he had this idea. He was playing football at the University of Maryland and was tired of his shirt getting soaked after a long practice and noticed that his compression shorts would. From that he got an idea and worked to perfect his product with the help of teammates that were in the NFL. Kevin Plank worked out of his grandmother's basement before making his first team sale and moving on to greater things. All of these things about Under Armor Clothing Company really speaks to me. And is the reason I would like to work there and hold that prestigious position. Yet, being the CFO of UA is not really my dream job
Asking me what my dream job is, is an interesting question.
When I was younger I first wanted to be an astronaut. Space interested me and I thought it would be really cool to go up there and see what they see up there. Next it was wanting to be a cowboy and then I stopped dreaming about future jobs. After a long soul search I settled at stay at home dad as my dream job. You might think that I’m joking or trying to be funny but that is not the case. It is something that I truly aspire to be. I first loved the idea of retirement. Living with someone you care about and going to see my grandchildren is something that I loved. Then I moved on to
thinking “Hey retirement sounds great and all but what if I could be retired forever”.
Then it hit me, “A stay at home dad is someone that doesn’t work and can spend all his time with his family”. So when asked what my dream job is, it really isn’t a job at all but it is definitely a dream of mine. The only way that I will be able to fulfill this dream is marry someone that is rich or will become rich. I am currently dating a girl that wants to be a doctor so that is a good start. If this doesn’t work out some ideas that I’ve considered are going to prestigious colleges and hanging out in local bars or other social gatherings that I can attend I will be looking for graduate school or doctorate programs. Being a stay at home dad will truly allow me to do everything I want and enjoy. I do not worry that I’ll get bored but do realize that it is something that could pop up. Overall I am happy with the future no matter what way it goes.
