Why I Want To Pursue My First Year In College
Entering my first year of college in the fall of 2016 was very stressful, but I believed I found a home for myself for the next four years at Rosemont College. While applying to colleges my senior year of high school, I always thought that I would work better in a smaller environment. I believed that if there was a lower facility to student ratio, I would exceed my full potential. When I arrived at college, I started to notice that my views about school had changed. I no longer wanted a small school and I realized that at a small school, there are very little options for classes. Currently, I feel as though I still have a high school schedule and that the opportunity to plan my classes how I would like is nonexistent. I would also like to be closer to home; I believe I need more support from my family. Also, I am looking for a school with an active residential-life presence, so if a problem were to arise, those who work within the position would be quickly alerted. …show more content…
I want to graduate with a biology major, and from there, start a dental hygienist program to become a hygienist. Many may ask why I instead plan on pursuing an undergraduate degree when I could alternatively obtain an associate degree in order to reach the dental hygienist requirement. I have also thought of that reasoning myself as I knew that it would be the quickest way to achieve my goal. However, I believe that becoming a hygienist is a short-term goal of mine, as my long-term goals require further education. I want to have experience in the dental office at all the positions; eventually, I want to go back to school for my doctorate in dentistry. Attending college is a huge accomplishment for me because I am the first person in my family to attend college. This is the reason why I believe that if I should experience college, I would like to do it the way I feel most

It’s very hard to believe that there are so many options for students to get an education right now. Students have the options to physically go to class, take them online, receive certification training and the list goes on. I graduated high school in 2002 and around that time, it seems that I only had two options: community college or a four-year university. Personally, I was leaning towards a Prince Georges Community College in Largo, MD, but my traditional parents disagreed. They were urging me to attend Towson University in Towson, MD. I really had to sit down and debate the pros and cons of both, before I could make a final decision.…

Research became an integral part of my life over the course of one summer when I took part in the McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievemnet Program. This program lasted approximately two months but that short amount of time drastically changed everything I had planned for my future. After the program, I changed my undergraduate major, I altered the extracirriculars I was involved in, and my career goals shifted drastically from the plan I had in place. As a first generation college student, my perspective of possible career options was limited an did not include continued academic pursuits. Through the McNair program, my eyes were opened to a new realm of opportunities. For the longest time I had a simple understanding of what "research" truly…

Some people like big classes but I prefer smaller class size. The social environment of the university and class size is amazing. Fewer students per class makes it easy for me to associate with the professors at personal level. This will contribute to motivation on my side as a student. I always want to share my problems with someone who can help and this is what professors at UC will provide to me. I believe that with encouragement from professors and staff members, I will be able to better improve myself both in academic study and personal growth. Leaving the community college will provide me with an avenue to engage in research carried out in the undergraduate school which is not available in the community college. Hi, I’m Suzzana, I think you know that by now. I’m currently attending Camden County College. I am transferring because as you might know, most community colleges are two year schools. Community College has been great for me. I was never achievement orientated when I was in grade school. I was enrolled in an alternative school since the 8th grade. I was behind in my academics, but I would like to say I compensate in life experience. When I was younger around the age of 9 I was bullied a lot. I was chubby and I increasingly gained weight at that time. My influx of weight was the baggage of my emotions and my families struggles. My parents divorced when I was 10, my mom was escorted out by police. I only had my dad for a year. Then, I had missed…
