Why Is Abortion Controversial

The concept of abortion has been around for hundreds of years, yet it is still a topic of controversy. Although it has been around for so long there are still many problems. Along with those problems are plans to resolve them, and current solutions. The main problem is the controversy on the legalization of abortion and government funding of Planned Parenthood. As of right now they have put restrictions on abortions but there are still many people that are making arguments for the side they agree with to continue to change the law. The two main side in this argument are pro-life activists and pro-choice activists, they disagree with each other on almost everything when it comes to this topic, which continues the debate between whether abortion
should actually be legal or outlawed. The legalization of abortion is as controversial as it is because of the two very opinionated sides to the argument. There are people that are pro-choice and there are people that are pro-life; they tend to disagree on most things regarding abortion, which is a reason many people think the argument will never be fully resolved. A majority of people that are pro-life think that abortions allow more irresponsible pregnancies and they believe that it will eventually lead to a disrespect of human life (O’Brien). There are also people that believe that the right to have an abortion should always be available to women without limitations, those people would be considered pro-choice. Another pro-choice argument is that if abortions are accessible to women that can not or do not want to, for any reason, go through a full term pregnancy, they’ll find a way to get an abortion which may cause them to go to someone that is not medically trained and it could end up with them suffering permanent injuries or even fatality (O’Brien).
