The Myth is very powerful and it teaches the students the value of its culture. Throughout the story bravery, strength, and loyalty was portrayed. Another value out the text as between god and good. People who worships god is good people like Beowulf. The Grendel was against god and his actions and personality prove he was bad. This story helps you understand what a hero consist of. Beowulf also give some insights on how things where in the 11 century. Besides the myth was extremely entertaining to read and it was based of real life problems. The only fake thing I would say about the story to make it a myth was the fact that it is no monsters in real life. We do have people who eat other people for a living but not like what was portrayed in the textbook.
Overall everything that happen was real life actions. There are a lot a Grendel in the world today but it is up to you to take him/her out. When you are the only one who will step up and fight for what’s right then you are considered a hero.
Throughout all the stories I have read in this online class Beowulf and The Odysseus are alike to me. Both of them show courage by fighting a monster to be announced as a hero. Both characters have brave hearts and isn’t afraid to step out on fate. Odysseus holds the crown when coming to be an epic hero I must
