In 1775 when the Revolutionary War began Hamilton joined the New York Provincial Artillery company. Then in 1776 Hamilton he collected captain’s commision and he started his own artillery company. Now George Washington saw his leadership skills and Hamilton accepted a position on Washington’s staff. Hamilton proved his bravery and leadership in the battles of Long Island, White Plains, Trenton, and being victorious in the Battle of Yorktown. Hamilton was a great leader but while he was in appointment the army lacked organization and money. Hamilton was moved to inspector general and second command as America prepared for a potential war with France. They drew their guns and shot. Hamilton’s shot completely missed Burr, unfortunately for him, but Burr’s shot hit Hamilton and his wound was very fatal. Hamilton was brought back to New York and he died the next day. Hamilton died at the age 47, the date was July 12, 1804. Hamilton died that day but what he accomplished has affected everyone up until today. Hamilton wanted a stronger government and he did a lot to accomplish that. He influenced a lot of political thought and his contributions were more significant that people tend to
