Why Is Lecter Movie Important
DIAGNOSTIC IMPRESSIONS
Signs:
Over the course of the movie Lecter not only kills a number of policemen with no signs of regret but also mutilates a number of their bodies post-mortem. This mutilation includes biting the face off a police officer, putting it over his own, and using the disguise to escape imprisonment. It also includes dismembering a police officer and stringing his body up above Lecter’s holding cell. As stated above this killing spree did have an end goal, and that was for Lecter to break himself out of prison. Not only did he break out but he escapes out of the country, as we learn in the end of the film. At the end of the film we also see him committing fraud, taking an alias when he escapes from prison. What makes Hannibal Lecter’s character so creepy is his charm, throughout the movie we see him be cordial, polite, and at all times acting on the highest form of manners. This can been seen in his treatment of Clarice, for example, when one of the inmates throws seamen at her, Lecter, in response, forces the man to swallow his own tongue. While this is also an act of violence, it can be seen as Lecter evening the scale for Clarice’s dignity.

Lecter evidently does not have a Border-Line Personality Disorder because it is a disorder that involves lots of self doubt and a lack of stability in ones life. While Lecter does lead a unconventional life and, for a major portion of the movie, is imprisoned, he is meticulously plotting the entire time. This shows an amount of control that would be lacking if there was a Border-Line Personality Disorder was in the picture. Lecter is also very self confident is his intelligence, using it to manipulate most, if not all, the situations he is in, as well as managing to psychoanalyze and find the serial killer the FBI is hunting. Due to these factors we can rule out Border-Line Personality

***************************************************************************************************** Hannibal didn't know that he could experience emotional pain and anguish, but when he is separated from Will, he knows that that is not the case. When the door of the jail cell shuts behind him, he feels a stab of pain in his chest at the thought of never seeing Will again. Being separated from Will and never seeing his beautiful face again made him sick to his stomach. When he had been incarcerated previously, he had not felt alone. People often came to visit and interview him (He was "Hannibal the Cannibal" after all), but the reason he didn't feel alone was because he knew that Will would have to come and see him.…

There needs to be evaluations given to the defendant by qualified psychiatrist to see if there is in fact “a disease of the mind”. During the movie, Claudia was evaluated by two psychiatrists. Their findings were that Claudia needed to be in a mental facility because of several mental health issues, but failed to state that she did not know that the killing was wrong. There also seemed to be a difference in the evaluations, because one psychiatrist only evaluated her for 15 minutes, and refused to testify in…

Persons with the cluster “B” disorder can be characterized by more dramatic, emotional, and erratic behaviors. The four cluster “B” personality disorders include antisocial, narcissistic, borderline, and histrionic disorders. These are also the most common of all personality disorders. Antisocial personality disorder is expressed by a continued pattern of neglect for other people’s rights, and also for violating those rights. It typically begins during childhood or as a teenager and continues into adulthood. Jeffrey Dahmer had antisocial personality disorder, he was arrested in February 1992 for multiple charges of rape and murder. He was very unstable and showed his neglect for other people’s rights through the years 1978-1991. Next in cluster…

Nevertheless, Turkey now needs our support. Since the war, Turkey has sought additional financial assistance from Great Britain and the United States for the purpose of effecting that modernization necessary for the maintenance of its national integrity. That integrity is essential to the preservation of order in the Middle East. The British government has informed us that, owing to its own difficulties, it can no longer extend financial or economic aid to Turkey. As in the case of Greece, if Turkey is to have the assistance it needs, the United States must supply it. We are the only country able to provide that help.…

For a story of any kind to have any relevance or meaning some 50 years after being written and indeed almost 400 years after it was set, it needs to contain themes and ideas that have been uniformly felt and experienced by people from all walks of life as well as continuing to speak to and have meaning to new and changed generations of people. Years after being written, Arthur Miller's ‘The Crucible', still successfully speaks to numerous generations of people, that although live in different countries, under different governments and belong to different peer groups, experience the same issues that the characters of ‘The Crucible' experienced as well as the same issues that were experienced by Arthur Miller at the time of writing. ‘The Crucible' effectively addresses not only the issue of conformity found in all social groups, it illustrates the remarkable amount of power a select group of people may possess, purely because it is they who are entitled to interpret the various law and morals by which people live as well as the numerous injustices that continue to torment mankind.…

People enjoy watching Hannibal Lecter because it reflects a fear inside everyone, not necessarily that we might be murdered or eaten, but that we have no control over our lives. Hannibal Lecter is a physical manifestation of a fear that survives in the back of people’s minds, wary of the time when the luxury of having control over our lives is gone.…

Like many tragedies, Shakespeare’s Hamlet does not fail to provide readers with tales of fervent, bloody revenge which satisfies the primal impulses of characters in the play, wrought on by unjust murder and a desire for vengeance. With a temperamental demeanor and mercurial mood, Laertes is portrayed in many instances as a brash, near irrational son whose desire to avenge his father’s death leads to both verbal and physical conflict. Even Hamlet himself enjoys his own moments of frustration, slandering his duplicitous and incestuous uncle in private scenes and soliloquies. Unlike many traditional revenge tales, however, Hamlet also illuminates the question of the morality of revenge itself: whether or not the adage of “an eye for an eye” may…

At first glance Lecter seems to be a well educated man with good manners and well developed taste. However, one must look behind the façade and remember that Lecter is a brutal killer who in his own mind has done nothing wrong. It is necessary to know a bit about Lecter’s history in order to properly see how he fits into the trickster stereotype rather than just that of a monstrous psychopath. Lecter was born in Lithuania on January 20, 1933 to parents of nobility. At about the age of 10 his family moved to their cabin in the woods in an attempt to stay safe from the war efforts that were going on but his mother and father both ended up dead leaving Hannibal and his little sister Mischa to fend for themselves. Eventually some men came to the cabin and took shelter there but rather than help Hannibal…
