Why Is Soccer Important To Me
Chapter Two Soccer is a really important part in my life. I’ve been playing since first grade. My uncle used to play and he introduced the sport to me. In first grade I signed up for a kids soccer team at Montevideo Middle School. It was so much fun, and our coach was a total goofball. I remember one rainy day after our soccer match I forgot my gatorade. He then chased us down in the pouring rain, just for some juice. I don’t remember many people on my team, but I do remember Rebeca. Rebeca and I became great friends because we both went to the same school. Till this day we are good friends and I couldn’t imagine life without her. After that I stopped playing for a few years because other things came in the way and I just forgot all about soccer. When sixth grade came around I decided to start again, so I signed up for SVU Recreational Soccer. I would’ve joined their travel team, but I was too scared that I wouldn’t …show more content…
Reynolds, she was my english teacher. She introduced me to a lot of very interesting books, and showed me new genres that I really enjoyed. If I didn’t have her class I wouldn’t love reading as much. Not only did she let us read whatever we wanted, she also let us write about almost anything we wanted, that helped me become more creative as a writer. And to top it all off we always had fun in her class playing games, eating, and just having some time to socialize.
When seventh grade rolled around I loved it, it was my favorite year at Montevideo MIddle school. I had all my classes with my two best friends, so we were together all the time. I also started becoming friends with Anneliese, she was in my pre-algebra class. I have so many funny memories from seventh grade. I remember once when my class was walking back from the computer lab there was some soap on the floor, everyone except me saw it. So, as I was walking I suddenly slipped and fell, at first I was so embarrassed, but then I bursted out into

I was getting good at the game. I could juke and nutmeg everybody and on defense I could slide tackle almost anybody. That changed in the second season. Everybody was at my skill level and I didn’t have much I could do about it. Eventually in the fifth game of the season, I got fouled and ended up with a broken leg for six months.…

Ever since kicking my first soccer ball during Kinder Kicks, soccer has become a fundamental aspect of my life. Not only have I been playing the sport since then, but the sport has also influenced me beyond solely playing it. It is the culture surrounding the game as well. It is waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the Liverpool game, or getting ready to cheer on the New England Revolution in Gillette Stadium in the evenings. Soccer has been embedded everywhere in my life, from the posters on my bedroom walls to the jerseys that continue to accumulate on my closet floor. This passion has driven me to share the sport with as many as I can. With the Natick Soccer Organization, I have been organizing tournaments for U10 and U14 boys…

There are over seven billion people on this Earth, so what is it that makes me so different? I wear Nike, I drive a car, I play video games, I have chores, and could be considered a pretty normal person. I love, I laugh, I get angry, and I have emotions just like every other human being. The one thing I heavily identify with is football. For as long as I can remember I’ve played ball, and made some great friends along the way. The picture in the top left is a great representation of this. Football has taught me lessons of leadership, perseverance, toughness, how to deal with the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. (Bottom left: aftermath of beating Staley) Above all else, the best thing it has taught me was loyalty. Not only loyalty to a cause, but loyalty to my brothers, and ultimately my family. Football has created a foundation for my character, and without it I am certain I would not be the same person I am today.…

Later that week I was called into the disciplinarian's office, her name was Mrs. Landry. She was the seventh grade Social Studies teacher.
