Before the bomb decision was made, an “Allied demand for an immediate unconditional surrender” (ushistory.org, The decision to drop the bomb) Japan declined that request but they gave out their interest and a conditional interest. Now, US their main goal was to end the war quickly without all the bloodshed. Ironic right? Japan wanted to give surrender because they knew that they weren’t going to win this war. They also wanted to go out with some dignity intact though. What they wanted was that they wanted to keep their emperor in power. Their emperor did not’ have any sort of control over them, but some traditions were dear to them. Regardless, US dropped the bomb on the unsuspecting city of Hiroshima. They said that the bomb was necessary to end the war, but they didn’t even attempt to go for a more diplomatic approach. They ended up killing innocent peoples' lives just because they can. Apparently it was necessary for the ending of the war, killing over 100,000 innocent people. If the US was to be bombed because Japan wanted to “end war”, then there would've been an outrage and Japan would have had a target on their backs.
