the right to petition/argue and peaceably assemble with other citizens arguing about why your opinion is better than some other person’s opinion.
The first amendment of the Bill of Rights gives people the freedom of speech or of the press. This part of the first amendment is extremely important for the people. The freedom of speech, or of the press, gives you the right of sharing your opinion or saying what is on your mind, and also saying what you think about a specific person without getting arrested. This right comes in handy when you are debating over something, thinking that your opinio is in a way more important than their opinion. For example, in political situations, the candidates debate saying vote for me cause I can do this, and the other candidate has a different opinion/idea than theirs, and you personally like one of the other candidates idea and strongly disagree with the other candidates idea. The first
amendment gives you the right of choosing your side of opinion and are able to say what is on your mind or how and why you disagree with someone else. Some people agree with this part of the first amendment in being an important amendment and some can say it isn’t a great on or that this right is not very important at all. These other people can say that it is not important because you do not really have to say what is on your mind or what you opinion is, you can just keep your opinion to yourself and no one else really cares about what your opinion is, especially if you are arguing with their opinion, they are most likely not going to pay attention to that person at all. Even big/famous people out there think that the first amendment isn’t a big deal, such as Dashanne Stokes who is famous for being a doctor. Dasannes Stokes says “Discrimination is discrimination, even when people claim it is “Free Speech,” (Stokes, 10) The second right that comes out of the first amendment is that anybody has the right of choosing their own religion. Most people have a religion that they are really into and they are really serious with their religion. They love their religion and really believe in what it is. Personally I think this other right is also very important because you have the choice of choosing what you want to believe in, and I actually have a religion that I really believe in myself, and there is no certain or specific that I have to follow, it would be really bad if someone told you that you have to follow a religion that is given to you that you do not really want to believe in. Someone can actually strongly disagree with this is being an important right as well. They can say that most people do not even have a religion that they choose to believe in, and yes it is true, most people do not even have a religion that they choose, so why is it even important to have the choice of picking your own religion if most people do not even choose to believe in something. The last and third right that you get out of the first amendment is that you have the right to petition/argue and peaceably assemble with other individual citizens to make a statement or put your opinion out there and try to get it noticed hoping that your opinion is considered. Yes, this right is actually quite similar to the first right that comes out of the first amendment which is the freedom of speech. The freedom of speech gives you the right of saying whatever you want which is actually really similar to the other right of having the right to petition or argue. They both give you the right of saying whatever you want to whenever you want to, except I guess there is a somewhat difference between these two rights, is that the right to petition is that you have the right to peaceably assemble. People arguing against this can say that why have two other rights if they are both exactly the same except that one of thers gives you the right to be in a group. It really does not matter whether you are alone or in a group. Out of all these three reasons of why the first amendment is one of the best amendments out of all the other ones in the Bill of Rights, they are all very important which makes this amendment the best amendment out of the rest. This amendment really stands out than all the other ones because not does this amendment have a lot of really important rights, but it has three rights all bunched into one amendment. Mostly every single one of the other amendments only have one single right, and there is no other amendment that has a total amount of rights that is bunched up into one complete amendment, which makes this amendment on the best amendments than the rest.
