Why Is The Testing Wrong
During the book The Testing there were many situations where things could have gone very wrong. One time, is when Cia is taking her first test, as this was a very crucial part of her testing and could have meant life or death Another example of this was when the main character, Cia, was choosing what to take with her into the city during her testing. Also, when Cia left her room every night to talk to John was another situation where things could’ve gone very wrong.
In this story the location is a region near the Great Lakes. This region is home to a settlement founded after a great nuclear war which decimated most of North America. In this civilization, the best and brightest students in every class are chosen for a testing to see how they

Since she was only aloud to bring two personal items she knew she had to make them count. When she made her final decision she chose a hunting knife her father had given her, as well as an emergency radio that he could keep in touch with him on. This came in handy towards the ending when she was running away from the cruel testing facility and fell into a crevice in the ground. Once she fell in the crevice she used her knife to start a fire to keep warm. After she had her fire made she used her radio to signal her dad for help. Without the radio, even if she managed to get out on her own, would not have survived the sand storms and mutated creatures that roam the dry, dusty, and cracked …show more content…
On the train ride there and during her free time there, she gets to know John very well and she discovers they have very much in common. Both of them come from farming communities far away from the city and they both have at least one parents who have completed the testing. This is when they discover that a test participant’s memory is completely wiped after they complete all the tests. Both Cia’s dad and John’s dad completed the testing together, and both parents have told them about seeing fragments of memories during the testing. This makes Cia and John very curious about what is so secretive so the two of them sneak out every night to explore the more hidden parts of the testing facility. One night they find a computer with the name of every participant and what the tests they took were. The two of them attempted to download their parent’s files, when an alarm was tripped the two had to flee back to their rooms. If the two were caught they would have been executed for attempting to steal such classified
