I’m going to write to you about a pedophile named Wayne Williams. He is a guy who murdered over 29 children and young black men. This murder case took place between 1979 & 1981. In those 2 years of murdering this case was called the, “Atlanta Child-Killings”. Wayne Williams was convicted for the murders of 21 year old, Jimmy Ray Payne, and 27 year old, Nathaniel Carter. Investigators closed the books on more than two dozen (24) other cases after his conviction.
Williams, who is an African American, has always maintained his innocence, claiming that he as framed for the murders to cover up Ku-Klux-Klan involvement in the killings to avoid a race war in Atlanta. But he hasn’t yet won any of his several appeals for a new trail.
Attorneys for Williams argued that such DNA testing was not available when Williams tried to oppose the new DNA testing, but they do not believe the results of the test will prove Williams was wrongfully convicted. Williams as tried for only 2 of the 29 murders. The DNA tests ordered by judge, Thelma Wyatt Cummings Moore will include dog hairs found on some of the victims and those from Williams’s family dog. Tests will also be conducted on human hair and other evidence found on a car seat and clothing from the victims. Fulton County prosecutors have not yet decided if they are going to oppose Williams’s motion for the testing. Here are some comments on Wayne Williams, Asia said, “Wayne Williams is innocent. The murders of the other children cannot and will never be tide to him. The police used insufficient and irrelevant evidence as a cover up because they were pressured by the national authorities to convict someone. There is no evidence against him. They have tainted this man’s reputation and branded him as a serial killer and put him in jail for 2 life sentences. They know who the real killer is.”
