Most high school students mainly seniors are pressured by their guidance counselors, parents, and grandparents to go to college because it is what is considered "the right thing to do”, the entire public population has pressured teenagers in to going to college or else they will go nowhere in life and be seen as losers. Let's face it, going to college is publicly important. Most people go to college for the title of being called a college student because it overrules the title of just a high school graduate. Many do not want to be looked down upon so they do what would look best to the general public so that they aren’t seen of as a lesser value than those who did go to college. It is practically beat into our heads that in order to be a productive legal resident of, you should have some sort of college education so that you are make a substantial amount of money to cover living …show more content…
It is a lot harder now for graduates to find a good job since there is so much competition due to the growing availability of a college education. Even if the college graduate does get a job, it is typically not what they got their degree for. This isn’t completely a downfall though because they have to find some sort of job to pay off all the remaining balances that their schooling has given to them and it also gets them back on their feet. Many college students would feel that college is a waste of money because they do not learn what they want to and can’t get a job in what they planned on right after school. Then of course after the job that they have dreamed of is obtained they will love it and be grateful that they did choose the college
