Why Sikhism Is A Unique Religion
Sikhism is the one religion that moves me the most out of all of the religions. Sikhism was founded around 5 centuries ago in 1496. It was founded by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in Punjab, a state in India. Sikhism is a monotheistic religion and it is based on the religions of Hinduism and Islam, but it is its own distinct religion. Sikhism is the fifth largest religion in the world and it consists of about 26 million followers that can be found throughout the world. Sikhism is a very compelling religion There are countless reasons why I think Sikhism is a compelling and unique religion. One reason I believe that Sikhism is fascinating is because of its lifestyle. Another reason is the Guru Granth Sahib and how it is unique. Finally, equality is an important part of Sikhism and it is the third reason why I think that Sikhism is a captivating religion. …show more content…
In order to stay on the path to God, Sikhs follow this lifestyle. I find this lifestyle compelling because of the practices that are involved. For example, one of the practices in this lifestyle include living an honest lifestyle. A Sikh should never be dishonest and should live an honest life. Another practice is sharing. Sikhs should always share their wealth and give part of their commissions to charity. The final practice that I found most fascinating is selfless services. Whenever a Sikh has an opportunity, this lifestyle encourages Sikhs to engage in Seva.
Seva can include volunteering in community centres, at the Gurdwara, and helping around the community, to name a few. This is one of the reasons why I believe that Sikhism is
