We have seen from the first part of this assignment some reasons on why teachers (or we, MAPEH major, because will also be a future educator someday) need to teach music. Actually, the first part came from the internet, which I researched to help me give some information and ideas on why teachers or we need to teach music. But if talking about my OWN POINT OF VIEW about it, for me, we need to teach music first of all because music is an essential part of the human experience. All of us know what music is, right? And probably, we have different definitions of it, because we have different experience about it.
Music gives us a lot of things. One thing is that, music helps us express the words we cannot say directly to someone. This actually happens to me most of the time, I usually find myself listening to a song relating to what I really feel, or what my mood is. Through this, I will be able to release all the feeling s I have, and feel really relieved, calm, contented and free. Another thing is that, music makes people united, I guess. Best example of this is the song, “We are the World” by different singers of USA, like Michael Jackson who was actually one of the writers of the song, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, etc., where in the sales of this single will be donated to the new organization called United Support of Artists for Africa or USA for Africa. This non-profit foundation would then feed and relieve starving people in Africa, specifically Ethiopia, where around one million people died during the country's 1984–1985 famine. See, what music can help and unite people?
Another thing, Music gives us the fulfillment and makes our life more meaningful and pleased. I said this because, come to think of it, it would be boring if music didn’t exist in the world, there would be no dancing, singing, we wouldn’t know how to play instruments, we wouldn’t have ethnic dances, folkdances or the songs or dances during the ancient
