In the text it showed a image that had colonists putting tarr then feathers on the tax man, and that would make him look like a chicken. This evidence explains that the colonists were angry with the taxes the British made so they showed it by taxing and feathering the tax man. This evidence shows that the American Revolution was not justified because instead of torturing someone by tarring and feathering they should boycott the British taxes peacefully. This is why the American Revolution was not justified.
The second way the American Revolution was not justified is that the British taxed the colonists in not the right process. In the text it says,”Crying out against taxation without representation.” This is evidence explains that the British Parliament had no representatives to elect this law and it didn’t go in the right process. This shows that the American Revolution was not justified because to not even make a law without electing no representative is not justified and not professional. What we thought was a normal day here in Boston was definitely not… Many things led to this day, we have been merely bad to Britain, I don't understand why they had to go so harsh on us. The many consequences we faced will soon all end, as we fight through this. It all started with the vacuous "Townshend Acts" one of the most popular ones being the stamp act of 1765. The English set taxes on all citizens on every legal documentation. That meant we had to pay extra money when printing something, buying ANY type of printed good, like cards, books, paper, stamps in most cases (hence the act’s name.)…

    2. Some historians believe that the American Revolution was actually not revolutionary at all. In their view, colonials rebelled against Britain to keep things the way they were, not to change them. Do you agree? It is true that in 1775 and 1776 the colonists had tried to present the King with formal appeals for reconciliation. Their peaceful inquires were instead met with armed military force and several laws as well as taxation which the colonist did not take well. In addressing the taxation that was placed upon the colonists I think that they were in reality very unreasonable. The taxation was not unfair, the colonists were paying less taxes then the people in England were and they were not being taxed on the things that they would need for everyday survival.…

Thomas Jefferson wants to target many American colonists to declare their rights that they have endure the abused. They provide sufficient evidence to prove their argument that the declaration was justified. For example, in the beginning it refer to the existence of the government to secure these rights: “He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of larger districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.” As the american colonists reveal King George the third about how he suspended and refuse to many laws instead of abolishing good and helpful…

Whoever said the phrase “Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered” might have been talking about King George; he got “fed” because he got money and resources from the colonies with very little work, he got “slaughtered” through the revolution because he started asking for too much. The colonists were justified in waging war and breaking away from Britain. Britain treated the colonists unfairly, and used their limitless power to harm the colonists. Britain had complete control over the colonies and enforced their power through their armies.…

During the years 1740 to 1770 the tension between England and the 13 colonies grew into a full scale war. Suffering from unjust taxation and tyrannical rule, the colonists tried to change and influence the English policy through repeated petitioning and boycotts. After failing to influence England through peaceful measures, war was the colonists’ only option. The 13 colonies were therefore justified in starting a revolt against England. According to England however the colonists were not justified in waging war. England was the mother country and the colonists paid the lowest taxes in the world. Being that the colonists benefited from the French and Indian war, colonial help in paying back the debt was expected. The 13 colonies unnecessarily resorted to violence and propaganda in which a minority of Patriots influenced other colonists to believe in a “New England” problem. Despite England’s reasons as to why the 13 colonies were wrong to declare war, the colonists were justified in waging war. The colonists in the Declaration of Independence clearly stated their grievances and case against England, declaring to the world…

Throughout history their have been numerous revolts and rebellions against tyrannical kings and governments which were simply out of control. In other cases it has been a group of underprivileged, misunderstood, misrepresented, or oppressed groups of people. In this case these certain groups of people took it into their own hands to create the government they wished for. In most cases these groups of people had rational causes for their rebellions. However, the American Revolution was not an example of this. In fact it was quite the opposite. The American Revolution was not a group underprivileged, misunderstood, misrepresented, or oppressed people. These were a group of privileged, successful, and powerful people who lived in one of the most promising places of the world. The thing about them is that they wanted more power faster than it was being given to them. And because of this they orchestrated one of the most successful uses of…

Before trying to justify the revolution we must first understand what brought about the anger and resentment towards Britain in the first place. The colonies were settled by Britain and consisted of mainly British immigrants, some who were seeking religious freedom, some were sent from Britain to the Americas as a punishment, and some just wanted to move across the ocean. No matter how these people got to the colonies, once there they were subject the great and powerful Britain.…

However, a vast majority of the people today ignore the reason for which the Founding Fathers wrote, declared and defended the Declaration of Independence. One of the common mistakes is to think that the Declaration’s purpose was to emphasize taxation without representation, but there are twenty-seven reasons listed that backup the creation of this document. The 27 reasons are in fact inspired on the abuses of The Great King of Britain, George III. The King interfered with the colonists’ right to self-government and for a fair judicial system. We can divide the twenty-seven abuses in three categories; each category holds King George III responsible for the stated abuse.…

The British government had been causing the American colonist many problems with their rules. As the British kept pushing and pushing the American colonist didn’t believe that this was right and had to do something. Some of the long term causes of the American Revolution was that the multiple acts that the British passed only to the colonist. Those included the Stamp Act, Molasses Act, Sugar Act, the Tea Act and others. These acts restricted the colonist from selling products especially to other lands that weren’t Britain. They added taxes to the products they sold and they even kept very strict track on the amount of money going around. As John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson state, “Soon after, the commercial intercourse of the whole colonies, with foreign countries, and with each other, was cut off by an act of parliament; by another several of them were entirely prohibited from the fisheries in the seas near their coast, on which they always depended for their substance..” (John Dickinson and Thomas Jefferson, p. 3)…

The second explanation is that the colonists loathed obeying the King (crown officials). Evidence for this is found in the accounts of the Boston Tea Party, a well-known event where a few men dressed up as native Americans and poured all of the tea that was on a ship into the sea, this was a massive rebellion against the crown, and shows us that they found the King tyrannical. Nevertheless, Naill Ferguson stresses the fact that this was a reluctant revolution, so the apparent ‘tyranny’, can’t have been that bad. The Americans even gave the British an olive branch to show that they wanted peace, but also equality.…
